Wavecrest Watersports started life in a very small way, Mark our founder moved back from Spain after becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) in May 2005. When working at a friends hotel, two members of staff asked Mark to teach them to dive. These two were the start of Wavecrest as we know it today. So from humble beginnings working out of a private garage the school grew...
In September 2009 we had the chance to expand from the simple garage to our current location & become an authorised PADI dive resort.
From here we have grown exponentially gaining:-
PADI 5 Star status in July 2010 & PADI 5 Star IDC (Instructor Development Centre) in January 2011
Further expanding into an authorised PADI TecRec Centre in July 2012.
Then becoming a project AWARE 100% partner 2017. Helping to protect our oceans.
In 2012, Wavecrest became the FIRST PADI TecRec centre in Cornwall. Meaning we can offer not only the recreational course but the more challenging and disciplined technical courses from tec40 to Tec Deep (Trimix), as Mark & Beccie progress through the TecRec system themselves more & more courses will be offerered in these challenging exciting avenues of diving.
We are committed to protecting the valuable ocean environment and we pride ourselves in supporting and partnering with the conservation charity, Project AWARE. The team at Wavecrest are dedicated to ocean protection as well as education in this area, teaching courses to divers and non divers alike.
We are more determined than ever to protect the worlds oceans!, Being a 100% Project AWARE partner means that for every single course we teach we donate £10 on your behalf to Project AWARE helping their global fight against marine debris and protection for sharks and rays. This also gains you the prestigious AWARE certification card showing your support in this worldwide effort.
